A note from the Director of FBC Rhode Island:
As many of you know from the Potluck, Captain Tim has taken on a new role as the Northeast Events Coordinator, and I have stepped into his role as Director of Dock Operations for RI from Dock Manager of Newport. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say hello. I hope everyone is enjoying the Summer, especially the great weather we have had the past several weeks.
FBC is all about offering our members a wonderful experience on the water. It should be noted that getting to your boat and off the dock is truly a team effort.
Our dock staff and service technicians are committed seven days a week to maintaining the fleet and offering the absolute best customer service.
The club environment is what we strive for, and we are all responsible to value and respect each other, the boats, the staff, and our extended family of host Marinas who provide us our home ports, amenities, parking, and the extended professionalism of their staff. This also includes at some locations: pools, grills, and sundecks.
When appropriate, please take a moment to thank our Marina partners for all they offer our FBC family and let us show our appreciation by always respecting any facility rules that may apply. (Parking, restroom access, pool restrictions, dock & boating safety information).
Additionally, there have been several questions regarding tipping the dock staff. Gratuities are always appreciated, and they are split between the shifts, so everyone shares.
Additionally, remember, within 24 hours you have to call the docks for updates on reservations and waitlists. With all the events on the bay, weekends are especially busy in Newport and Warwick. Plan in advance, the reservations book pretty solid two weeks out.
Great Members + Great Staff+ Great Marinas + Great Boats plus a little Sun & Fun = FBC Rhode Island
