Growing up, and for most of my adult life as well, I’d never experienced anything like an Old Home Week—not even an Old Home Day! It wasn’t until I first found my way to Freedom that I discovered what it was. And now here I am, someone who actually lives in Freedom..Is Old Home Week just a sneaky way to convince people to move here?

As of August 1st, we are no longer accepting donations at the Library. We'll let you know when we start collecting for the next sale!

Steve Blunt will present a special ocean-themed program with songs, dance, and more on Wednesday, August 3, from 10-11am at the elementary school gym. Geared toward children ages 2-5 and their caregivers, but all are welcome. | |
Squam Lakes Science Center will present a program on turtles that live in NH, as well as have some special guests! Friday, August 5, 3:30-4:45pm, outside at the elementary school. (Rain location in the gym) Geared toward elementary ages, but all ages welcome. | |

Food Preservation Program | |
Ann Hamilton, Food Safety Field Specialist from the UNH Extension will present Preserving Your Harvest: The Basics of Preserving Food Safely on Thursday, August 18 at 3pm. The workshop will cover the latest research-based methods of canning and freezing, answer questions, and share experiences about home food preservation. Seating is limited--to reserve your spot, you can fill out this online form, or give us a call at the Library. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library | |

The 2022 One Book One Valley selection is Night of the Living Rez, by Morgan Talty. Copies are available at the Library for anyone who wants to pick one up and jump in early. The author talk for this year's selection will be on Thursday, October 27 at 7pm, at the Majestic Theater in Conway. For more information, check out the One Book One Valley website.
