Librarian's Corner

There is a part of me that is never prepared for the frenzy of activity that comes to a library with the approach of Summer. You think about it, you plan for it, and yet, it still leaves you catching your breath, and desperately hoping that you haven’t forgotten something that you’ll need to keep things flowing smoothly.

Summer Reading Kickoff

ducky reading.jpg

Saturday, June 25 (Ducky Day!), we will have our Summer Reading Kickoff outside the Library from 10am-1pm. Join us to learn more about this year’s Summer Reading Program, color in some fish to put on display, pick up your entry form for this year’s bookmark contest, and more! The Kickoff will be held inside the Library if there is inclement weather.

Accepting Donations

We’ll be accepting donations for the Friends of the Library Book Sale from June 25th – July 30th. Please remember: if you wouldn't want to buy what you’re donating at a book sale, people probably won't want to buy it from ours. We cannot accept textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, travel guides, or other quickly outdated materials.

Except for during the Summer Reading Kickoff on June 25th, please bring all donations to the Circulation Desk. Do not leave donations in the vestibule, in the book drop, or sitting in front of entrances.

The Friends of the Library Book & Bake Sales will be held on Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th.
