With public health’s reopening plan, we have more freedom to hike across NS! Check out our call for fall guided walks, a June Walk Leader training, rescheduling of in-person courses and more.
Call for Fall Guided Walks
Hike NS invites groups across NS to partner with it on delivering guided walks this fall. Hike NS will help promote events and provide a how-to guide and trail prizes to giveaway. Please register your event by August 9, 2021.

Walk Leader Training: June 17
Hike NS is offering another free NS Walks Leader Training on June 17 to give you the skills and confidence to lead a walking group as part of the NS Walks program. The training is meant for people interested in leading gentle, fun, friendly regularly scheduled walks for those who are currently less active. The registration deadline is June 14.


In-person Courses Rescheduled
Our in-person courses in mid-June are in the process of being rescheduled. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on new dates for our Field Leader - Hiking, Navigation and Re-Connecting with Nature courses.

We have already rescheduled our Field Leader - Hiking Courses slated for West Mabou and Bedford, which will both take place on June 26-27.

Webinars are free for Hike NS paid members and $20 for non-members (who then receive a free one-year membership). Our June webinars include:
Registration Open for Hike the Highlands
Hike the Highlands, organized by the Hike the Highlands Festival Society, will take place on Sept. 10-19, 2021 with two options for participation: 1) virtually (anywhere) and 2) in person on Cape Breton Island - Cabot Trail & Northern Cape Breton. Give Input on Sustainable Development Goals Act
Public consultation is now open on the NS Sustainable Development Goals Act, which aims to advance Nova Scotia’s economic, social, and environmental wellbeing. ​Input is being accepted between May 27 and July 26 through the Clean Foundation, on behalf of Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change.
