It's that time of year to reflect and think about all that we are thankful for. At FES, we are thankful for...
- Well attended Parent/Teacher Conferences
- A community that supports our students
- Hop Balls and Kona Ice
- Warm breakfasts and lunches
- New playground equipment
- Fall leaves and a crisp breeze
- Student work decorating our halls
- Band-aides and ice packs
- New library books
- Teachers/Staff dedicated to student success
- A sparkly clean building every morning, and...
- FES Students!
We hope that this month brings you many things to be grateful and thankful for. Happy November!
Yours truly,

All 3rd-6th grade students will be taking the School Counselor Corps Grant Survey. The purpose of this survey is to help our school identify immediate issues that may exist or need to be addressed to provide a more effective and positive school environment for all students.
The School Counselor Corp Grant program has helped 365 schools in 98 of the 178 districts and is now helping to create a more comprehensive school counseling program that will benefit your student.
Some example question/statements that students will see are:
- On a scale of 1-10, my school is preparing me for the future.
- There is at least one adult I feel is there for me, that I can trust and listens to what I have to say.
- There is a school counselor at my school.
- Can you ask for help and support when you need it or if you don't understand something?
- I try to understand how someone else feels and where they are coming from (most of the time, sometimes, never).
Students will be taking the survey the week of November 8th during their in-class guidance time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mindy Holman or Sheryl Gifford. Thank you!

All visitors will be required to sign in at the school office and obtain a visitor’s pass, please have your identification with you.
Thank you also for getting those after school messages into the office by 2:00 pm. This allows us to get messages to students with fewer interruptions and to ensure we have ample time to pass on the information.

Food Items
Any food brought to the school for parties, events, etc…. must be pre- packaged, store bought and have labels on them. The reason for this is because we have students with severe allergies such as, but not limited to tree nuts. We are asking that you refrain from sending peanut or tree nut products to school. Please reference student handbook.

“Kiss and Go” Drop Off and Pick Up
***The front loop is THROUGH TRAFFIC ONLY - it is referred to as a “Kiss and Go’ drop off/pick up lane. Students can enter and exit their vehicle at the designated stop only. This will not be a parking spot- it will only be a momentary drop off or pick up spot. There are 2 red lines that indicate the drop off/pick up spot and they are located on the west side of the front circle.
DO NOT PASS OTHER VEHICLES in the front circle.
**ALL students Kindergarten-6th grade are picked up or dropped off at the designated spot inside the front loop - there is no pick up or drop off in any other location.

A Reminder From the Health Office:
Vision is important for education so please remind your student to wear glasses as needed in school.
Mobile dental will be at FES on November 3rd and 4th. If your student will be participating please read and fill out the pack that was sent home and return it to the school by November 2nd.

Mrs. McConnell
Hello! My name is Reanna McConnell and I teach 1st grade at FES. This is my 9th year teaching and I love to inspire students to find what they are passionate about. My husband and I have 2 boys. Finley is 6 years old and Oliver is 4. In my free time I like to snowboard, snowmobile, ride our side by side, do Crossfit, and play in the mountains.

I can hardly believe it myself, but this is my 46th year teaching. I took a couple of years off to be “Nana” to my five year old granddaughter, Charlee. My daughter, Krysti, followed in my footsteps and teaches 3rd grade here at FES. I was called out of retirement to be a first grade teacher. I have always enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially Denver Bronco Football. My favorite thing to do is make special memories with my daughter and granddaughter.

Mrs. Garcia
This is my 26th year in education and 19th year as a Fremont Bear. I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up a short distance away in Maryland. Having history so close to my fingertips fostered a love for learning. The natural progression for me was to go into education, so I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Ed and then went on to get a Master's Degree in Mathematics. Teaching has been a great blessing in my life. Once a student is in my class, they are my kiddo for life.
I am married and have two grown daughters with families of their own. When I was younger, I enjoyed being on the go all the time, but now I am much more of a homebody. I enjoy reading, taking walks, and just spending time outside, but my favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family.
