Does Fremont Township Plow Your Road?
|
|
If you have decorative rocks or landscaping decor that is in the highway right of way, please make sure it is moved at lease 3 feet from the edge of the road before the first snow fall. During winters with higher snowfall amounts, we use a side mounted plow called a wing to push back snow from the roadside to create space for additional snow to prevent narrowing of the roadway. It helps our drivers if obstacles in the right of way are marked with delineators to prevent damage to our equipment and your landscaping.
Please ensure your mailbox post and base are in good condition to withstand the forces of snow. We will not replace rotting posts, although we will attempt to repair or put a temporary mailbox in place. If your mailbox is damaged during a plowing event, please email or call our highway department and we will repair or replace. Please note that replacements will be a standard 4x4 cedar tone post and a standard mailbox. We suggest not using expensive mailboxes as they are in a vulnerable position—our drivers strive to avoid mailbox casualties, but accidents happen when operating in the weather that we do. Click here to see if Fremont plows your road.

Only 4 Days of Appointments Left for Medicare Help
|
|
If you need help evaluating your Medicare Part D, please call to make your appointment now. This popular program is filling up so fast that we only have 4 days of appointments still available.
Fremont Township offers a free service to Fremont Township residents to help sign up for Medicare and Medicare Part D. Each year you should be evaluating which prescription plan best suits your needs based on the medications you are on.
This is our third year in this program and we have found that many people never evaluate their prescription drug care plan. You should be looking at this every year. Our counselor helped save residents over $80,000 last year. Our residents have found comfort in having help to make sure they are in the right program.
Medicare's Open Enrollment period begins October 15 and ends December 7. Changes made to your Prescription Drug plan will take effect on January 1, 2022.
If you would like to make an appointment with the Ship Counselor, please call Nancy at 847 223-2847. The appointments will start on October 15 and go through December 6.
You will need to have an online account with Medicare and a list of your current prescriptions before making an appointment, as you will need them when you speak with the Ship Counselor.
If you need help creating on-line access, let Nancy know when you call.
If you are turning 65 and need help signing up for Medicare, the counselor can also help you with that.

Ansel Adams Early Works Opening November 6 at the Lake County Forest Preserve Dunn Museum

A nationally acclaimed exhibition, “Ansel Adams: Early Works,” is running at the Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County, 1899 W. Winchester Road in Libertyville, Illinois, from November 6, 2021 through March 27, 2022.
Ansel Adams (1902–1984) was a giant in the field of landscape photography.
