In May we wrote an extensive expose why the French was still adamant about maintaining border controls after May 17 at the time when the Dutch side had lifted its border restrictions.

It turned out that the French border controls brought cross-border fraud to light.

This time the newly imposed French border crossing restrictions are aimed at limiting the Dutch side residents from making 'free' use of the LCF Hospital medical services.

However, strangely enough, if you are healthy enough to hike or bike across the border, you are allowed to do so freely, as our lead article today points out.

In the meantime, while you are reading that article and others, I will be celebrating my daughter's 9th birthday today.

Reminder: It is now mandatory to wear mask when visiting businesses/stores. Social distance must be observed at all times. [See Editorial above]

Hand sanitizing upon/before entering a premises is now mandatory.
Follow instructions of employees and/or security guards re: COVID-19 precautions, or be refused access to businesses.

Employers must provide masks for employees and ensure they have access to hand sanitizer.

Employees must be able to work safely. Therefore, social distance and masks are mandatory at the workplace. Employees who are ill must be sent home by the employer. Sick employees are required to call their doctor as a precaution.

Entertainment businesses are to close from midnight (12:00am) to 6:00am daily.
