Heartwarming Winter Recipes
Sweet Braised Kale with Apples & Nuts
I made this recipe last week using fresh tender kale from Asbury Village Farm, and EverCrisp apples from Scholl Orchards. It was sweet, nutty, and delicious! Soy sauce added a salty punch and a nice contrast to the sweet. Even my Mom (who is a not a fan of cooked kale) loved it. I didn't have any walnuts on hand so I used the Brazil nuts I had in the cupboard. I think you could easily subsitute any nuts, except peanuts.

Fresh Finds of the Week
Asbury Village Farm
Get your Greens
Asbury Village Farm was the rock star of the market two weeks ago. Folks were clamoring for their bounty of super fresh, 100% chemical-free, veggies! Choose from healthy greens like baby Bok choy, Tatsoi, Kale, Arugula, Mesclun mix and baby lettuce, along with sweet potatoes, carrots and sweet delicious turnips. But get there early!
Portch Tea
Kombucha's Back!
Good news for kombucha fans! Don returns Saturday and he's ready to fill your growlers with Hippie, Pinko, or Bluegrass.

Farmstand Recipes
Soup's On!
Need a hot reason to come out to the Market this weekend? Farmstand Recipes will have soups hot and ready!

On the menu this week, West African Peanut Stew, Italian Lentil Soup and the Moroccan Squash Stew! Purchase a hot cup or bowl or a frozen pint to take home for later and support the Easton Hunger Coalition. A portion of the Recipe Program's profit benefits EHC efforts to feed local families with food insecurity.

Make sure to stop inside the Public Market and visit the Highmark Farmstand from 10am - 1pm to learn more about the Thai Salad!

Apple Ridge Farm
Apple Ridge had a bountiful line-up at the last Winter Market - and Tracey will be bringing more of the same goodness on Saturday! Look for pasture raised pork, sausage, bacon and chicken, hearty homemade soups, vegan chili, chicken stock, gnocchi, and an array of fresh-baked sourdough breads and pastries. Oh, and don't miss their everything pretzel chips - great with soup or as a snack.
Primordia
Shiitake Sale
The golden oyster sale is still going strong at Primordia and you can expect to see a lot of them this season! Primordia is growing a an abundance of goldies because they are supplying NYC's Eleven Madison Park and they have to have enough schrooms that meet their specifications for size and shape. The other beauties need to get moved too, so that means a sale for you! SALE: $8/lb. when you purchase one pound or more!

Primordia also has a whole bunch of B-grade shiitake. Just slightly past their prime, but still great for chopping, roasting, or putting in soup! They will be on sale this Saturday for $8/pound. Start making your soup plans :)

Try this recipe for Bok Choy Shiitake Mushroom Soup!

Breakaway Farms
Team Breakaway is back this week with all of the grass fed, pastured, clean meats, poultry, & eggs that you love!
Don’t go home empty handed when you can bring home the finest artisanal sausages, bacons, dry aged steaks, and more!
Scholl Orchards
Ben and crew will have plenty of apples, root veggies, potatoes, and winter squash! Be sure to try the EverCrisp apples - they are outta this world!
