FROM RACHEL YATES, PRESBYTERY EXECUTIVE
SEVEN MINUTES
In seven minutes, I can cook an egg.  I can drive to my daughter's house or take a shower in seven minutes.  In seven minutes, I can work with Chris Halverson to sort through the Presbytery mail...even now, when we're in the season of taking orders for Planning Calendars.  There are a lot of mundane things that only take me seven minutes.

Next week, I'll take 7 Minute training.  It lasts four hours...  Yeah, that's what I thought, too.

Rev. Catherine Neal and I will join other faith leaders from around the area ... ( READ MORE ) .
PRESBYTERY PULSE
WITH CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES
Longtime member and ruling elder of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Patsy Delgado,
passed away after she suffered a fall over the weekend. Pat was very active in the presbytery over the years, serving on many committees. Most recently she was a regular at  our monthly Prayer Meeting here at the Presbytery. Visitation and service will be on Friday, July 12th. Details can be found here. Please keep Pat's family in your prayers.
STATED CLERK CLARIFIES ELECTRONIC VOTING
The following is a message from Rev. Dr. Christian Boyd, Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Milwaukee, concerning electronic voting via a platform such as Doodle.  This information was send to Clerks and Moderators earlier in July.  You can find the information from Rev. Dr. Boyd here.
INTERNATIONAL PEACEMAKER INVITED TO MILWAUKEE PRESBYTERY
The Presbytery is inviting an International Peacemaker to visit this fall.  Rev. Lydia Neshangwe from Zimbabwe would be available to preach, lead Bible studies, give presentations, meet with mission teams, enjoy ice cream socials, or whatever ways that you might engage with her.  Plan a special event, or have her join you in something you're already doing.  Rachel Yates will be coordinating schedules for congregations or other ministries that might want to have part of her time.  Rachel knows Rev. Neshangwe from their time together in Denver Presbytery, where Rev. Neshangwe attended seminary.  Although dates are not yet set for her visit, please let Rachel know ( ryates@pbymilwaukee.org or 414-292-2743) if you are tentatively interested in a visit.  Thanks to your generous mission support gifts, the Presbytery is able to cover the expenses of this visit.
BOOKS OF ORDER
We are now taking orders for the 2019-21 Books of Order.  If you would like to take advantage of our bulk order discount, you can purchase them for $8.50.  Order forms should be submitted no later than July 31st.  You can also download a searchable version of the Book of Order to your laptop or tablet for free!
PLANNING CALENDARS
The Presbytery office is now taking orders for the 2019-20 planning calendars.  The updated calendars begin with the month of September instead of June.  We order in bulk, making the calendars a considerably cheaper price.  Place your order before August 2nd to be included in this price break.
SUMMER BOOK CLUB
Are you part of a book club that is looking for it's next great book to dive into?  Consider reading We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom by Dr. Bettina Love.  Dr. Love is the presenter at our September Presbytery gathering.  Her book offers insight into our educational system through personal reflection, cultural criticism, and relevant theory and will continue the conversation about anti-racism we started in May with Dr. DiAngelo.

Contact the Presbytery Office to get your copy for $14.00  today!
