FROM RACHEL YATES, PRESBYTERY EXECUTIVE
PROOF AT LAST!
I have proof at last!  Some thought it wasn't possible - that maybe we were genetically deficient and that's why.  Others acknowledged our heritage as the "frozen chosen" for our staid and proper approach to worship.  Like searching for the Yeti, I wandered the country, seeking proof that Presbyterians weren't uniquely subject to stricter laws of gravity.  At last night's Presbytery Gathering, I finally had my proof, and it's captured on videotape:  Presbyterians are, in fact, able to . ..( READ MORE ) .
PRESBYTERY PULSE
ANNUAL CLERK PACKET
We will be sending by email to all church clerks and pastors the documents usually contained in the Annual Clerk Packet. We hope to eliminate printing out so many documents and model being stewards of our earth. The documents that will be emailed will include the Minimum Terms of Call approved at yesterday's presbytery meeting, Terms of Call/Contract form, Pastoral Personnel Policies, Treasurer Letter, Clerk Letter, and General Mission Pledge form. Watch for them next week. These documents can also be found on our website.  If there is any church that prefers to have the printed packet, please let  Chris Halverson  know.
PER CAPITA APPORTIONMENT
We will be sending by USPS to all church clerks the 2019 Per Capita Apportionment statement next week. The Presbytery approved the amount of $38 per member at yesterday's meeting.  The apportionment is based on the church's December 31, 2017 membership. Our hope is that churches will submit their Per Capita Apportionment by March 31, 2019. Please let   Chris Halverson  know if you will be using a different schedule for payment.
ILLUSTRATED CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
At yesterday's Presbytery Gathering, we colored on sheets from Illustrated Children's Ministry, a company of Adam Walker Cleaveland, one of our new minister members.  Thank you Adam for also bringing nativity stickers! Learn more and get freebies from their Facebook page and join the Community on the same page.
GET TO KNOW OUR PASTORS
WH O WAS THIS?
"This pastor is also a girl scout troop leader."

Last week's mystery pastor is Deborah Block, pastor and head of staff at Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
"On my honor, I will try ..." When the call went out for leaders for a new troop at my neighborhood public school, I decided to try it.  We're now in our third year, 20 Brownies and five leaders (a university VP, a Methodist pastor, a physician, a bartender, and me!) and this year our focus is on the world-wide need for clean water.  It's great opportunity "to serve God and my country" with girls and parents in my community.

Jean Dow (surprise, surprise) was the first to guess correctly and received a free meal at yesterday's presbytery gathering! And to the others who guessed correctly, and incorrectly, thanks for playing!

WHO IS THIS?
"I presented the first research paper on the pastoral implications of "Xena: Warrior Princess" at the annual meeting of the American Society of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature."

Send your guess to  Chris Halverson  and the first person to guess correctly will be recognized next week and receive a free dinner at the next presbytery meeting!
