SACRED SITES DAY PILGRIMAGE -- BAHA'I HOUSE OF WORSHIP
Since ancient times pilgrimage has been a part of almost all world religious traditions.  Pilgrims travel for a purpose -- seeking wisdom, deeper understanding, clarity in making a decision, or devotion to the Divine or a holy person.
This day of pilgrimage will offer the opportunity to learn about the Baha'i faith and be inspired by its teachings, art, architecture, and music.  The Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette, IL, was completed in 1953 and has become a landmark visited by people from around the world.
Belief in the oneness of humanity, acknowledgement of the common threads among all major religions, the connection within the human spirit, and the betterment of the world are core to the Baha'i faith.
On  Sunday, September 22, 2019 a coach bus will leave from Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI, at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Cost of $75 includes a $10 non-refundable deposit, transportation, guided reflection en route, and lunch.  Please register early as the group size is limited to 35.

POVERTY MATTERS! CONFERENCE
September 11-12 in Wisconsin Rapids
Over the course of the conference, participants are challenged to examine the national, regional, and local systems at play and consider how these shape policy and our collective response.  By drawing attention to the structural underpinnings of poverty, we believe a well-informed and intellectually honest discussion can take place.  This ultimately leads to moral choices and more effective anti-poverty policies and strategies.
This conference offers and exhibit hall, 4 plenary sessions, and over 30 workshops.  The theme is Securing Opportunity in Wisconsin and each of the workshops fall under the following tracks: Community Action & Everyday Forms of Assistance, Housing, Transportation, Job & Income Supports, Access to Health Care, and Research.  For more information visit http://povertymatters.events/
