Cabbage Throw Farm is happy to have salad greens for the last market of the year, including head lettuce, spring mix, spinach and microgreens! Additional offerings include Tatsoi, Bok Choy, red & green cabbage, Napa cabbage, carrots, beets, turnips, specialty radishes, rutabaga, onions, shallots (great flavor for soups and stuffing), garlic, winter squash and more.

I have fond holiday memories of my grandmother serving dandelion with homemade hot bacon dressing in a big wooden salad bowl (with red flowers painted on the sides). The bitter greens with that sweet, creamy dressing - so delightful! Salvaterra's Gardens will have bundles of fresh dandelion this week plus lots of other salad options including red and green leaf lettuce, Spring mix, spinach and arugula. and red leaf and green leaf lettuce.

If you're looking for cooking greens, Salvaterra's offers green kale, tuscan kale and chard this week. We love making sausage, kale and white bean soup this time of year. Zekraft's Smoked Turkey, Apple Butter, Bacon and Smoked Gouda crepe was the talk of the market last weekend. Seriously, so good - the perfect combo of sweet and savory! If you're looking for a dessert crepe or a festive breakfast, treat yourself to the Roasted Apple with Caramel crepe. Pair either one with a Hot or Cold Chai.

Beef Barley, Southwestern Chili and Cream of Mushroom are the THREE soups du jour.

This time of year my favorite scent is the lovely pine wafting from our own Christmas tree. That fragrance has inspired many of my winter and holiday soaps. Winter Woods is a beautiful Pine, Juniper and Cypress scented soap in forest green with navy blue swirls. My other Holiday Soaps are Winter Ice, Spearmint and Peppermint, Ancient Gifts (frankincense and myrrh with golden honey), Peace On Earth (vetiver and tangerine) and Ginger Snap. And my Christmas Time soap is a favorite this time of year too. It takes me all day to make a batch of this three layer soap as I need to wait 4 hours between each layer. It's perfectly scented with cinnamon, sweet orange and pine. Oh, and don't miss the NIce and Naughty soaps too!

Freshness takes center stage on Northampton Street starting January 6 with the return of EFM’s Winter Market. Enjoy a vibrant outdoor experience in front of the Easton Public Market every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon through April. Nearly 20 vendors will offer an array of fresh produce, mushrooms, pastured meat, eggs, bread, baked goods, honey, prepared foods, and the perfect kick of coffee and spirits.
