FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Dear friends,

As the year ends, we are deeply moved by the strength of our community in addressing food insecurity. This year, a resounding advocacy effort brought together food bank workers, volunteers, farmers, and business leaders to call for increased city and county support. Thanks to these efforts, Whatcom County voted to allocate $750,000 annually for the Whatcom County Food Bank Network through 2026, the City of Bellingham approved 250,000 for Bellingham Food Bank in 2025-- Both are vital steps forward.

If you joined our advocacy efforts, we encourage you to thank the mayor, executive, and all council members for their support. As we look to 2025, we remain inspired by our community’s unwavering belief that hunger is unacceptable. Thank you for standing with us—you are the heart of this work.

Thank you!

The BFB Team

Thank You For Your Support

In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our partners, supporters, and donors, we accomplished incredible milestones:

  • Provided 5,000 weekly grocery visits, including deliveries to 900 homebound households each week.
  • Partnered with Agape Food Bank to serve 700 farmworker families during 10 weeks of the berry season.
  • Distributed over 1 million diapers, ensuring our youngest stay healthy.
  • Invested $700,000 in local produce, milk, and eggs, supporting our food system and farmers of color.
