Vegetables to Plant Now!

Gardening season has begun and while some things shouldn't be planted outside yet, several veggies can be planted now.

What to plant now:

  • seed potatoes and garlic/onion sets
  • root vegetables such as carrots, beets and parsnips
  • pea seeds and all leafy greens (seeds or plants)

Remember! Keep newly sown seeds and plants watered often.

What should wait...

Though our daytime temperatures are looking good, we are still experiencing lower temperature drops in the evenings. Until overnight temperatures are consistently 8C or warmer at night, hold off on planting:

  • Tomatoes
  • Peppers
  • Melons/Squash
