When Dreams Unravel
One of my personal challenges is a tendency to live in the future, where my brain is a few steps ahead of my body and my reality. It's way more fun to live somewhere that doesn't exist—it can be whatever you want it to be! Our passage from Jeremiah 29encourages us to get out of a dream world and to be where we are, which is, at the moment a place that is a little uncomfortable. What does it mean to stay in this moment as an act of faith?
God of movement and God of staying still, help us to be present to Your work in this moment, in this discomfort; in order to join your work here. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Small Group Celebration of Holy Communion
Tuesday, June 23 @ 7:00 pm
We have a few spots left. Please email Pastor Trudy if you'd like to attend. More information about requirements to attend worship will be provided before the service.
Some things to know: You must wear a mask while in the building except to consume communion. You will sign a waiver that states you are not currently symptomatic, have not knowingly been in contact with someone with Covid-19 in the past two weeks, and that if you receive a positive Covid-19 test in the following 14 days, you will participate in contact tracing. We will take your temperature with a touch free thermometer. The drinking fountains are not available and bathrooms are for emergency use only.
WONDERING...
REAL QUESTIONS FROM REAL PEOPLE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GLC
Listening in on the conversation about racism. As Christians we are called to enter the Gospel space around issues, stepping out of political trenches to open ourselves to things that may make us uncomfortable, but will also ultimately free us for living our faith and following Jesus. Talking about racism as a predominantly white congregation in a predominantly white suburb is essential for our faith. The group that participated in the first part of the conversation about racism submitted their questions for a second session. Some of those questions will be shared here-questions like how do we faithfully support people of color and the police, why are statues such a big deal, why are issues around race so political? The first thing to address is the difference between overt racist acts and a system that treats people differently based on the color of their skin.
Watch Phil Vischer's brief summary of systemic racism. If you find yourself arguing with it—that's good, that's engagement! Send your questions to Pastor Trudy and they will be answered here. Your identity will not be revealed to the congregation, but anonymous questions will not be answered. Let's grow in our faith and our love for the world. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
