Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Friday, we broke ground on the new Public Safety Facility at Sapphire Bay (Fire Station 5)! The project was approved by voters in the 2021 Bond Election and the facility, which will house both police and fire crews, will help us better serve and protect the densely populated southern section of Rowlett.

During Tuesday night’s City Council Meeting, Leadership Rowlett Class 32 was recognized. This Rowlett Chamber and Visitors Center program gives citizens the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills, get involved in the community, learn local government, and form lifelong friendships.

The Arts and Humanities Commission sponsors an annual Writing Contest open to all Dallas and Rockwall county residents with an interest in writing. Entries are judged on originality, content, creativity, relevancy, structure, and the intangible: how the work touches the reader.

Sweetie pie, Satchmo is in need of a loving home! He has been at the shelter since December 2022. Satchmo is a sucker belly rubs, going on runs =, treats and pup cups! So, he’s no coach potato! His favorite game is fetch, and he knows how to sit!

Engineering

Miller Road Reconstruction

Tiseo Paving Company continued grading on Miller Road. They also began placing the the cement slurry for the lime and cement stabilized subgrade. Crews expect to begin final grading work for the Miller/Chiesa intersection next week.

Country Aire Estates Reconstruction Phase 1

Quality Excavation continued installing the new 8-inch water line on Salzburg Drive and began installing the new long water service lines.
