City Offices and Facilities Closed for Thanksgiving Holidays
City of Rowlett facilities including City Hall, Community Centre, Development Services, Municipal Court, Library, Police and Fire Administration, and the Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 23 & 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day, services will be delayed by one day.
There will be no Friday @ 5 newsletter on Friday, November 24.

City Recognized for Financial Reporting Excellence
The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Rowlett for its comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
This is the 19th consecutive year that the City has received this prestigious award!

Citizen Self Service Portal to be Discontinued
Do you use our online Paymentus customer utility bill payment portal? If so, you can stop reading right now. You’re already one of the “In Crowd”.
If not, and you currently are using the Citizen Self Service portal - heads up - the City is undergoing a financial/utility billing system upgrade, and the Citizen Self Service payment method will be discontinued on November 28. Once this happens, all customer utility online payments will need to be made solely through our Paymentus utility customer payment portal. Read on...

Is this a code violation?
Peeling, flaking, and chipped paint are a violation of Rowlett Code of Ordinances, Chapter 78-121, Subsection 304.2. Exterior surfaces shall be maintained in good condition.
- Exterior wood surfaces, other than decay-resistant woods, shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment.
- Siding and masonry joints shall be maintained weather resistant and watertight.
- Metal surfaces subject to rust or corrosion shall be coated to inhibit such rust and corrosion.

Inspections of the Rowlett food establishments are conducted following the Texas Food Establishment Rules. Food establishments earn a score based on the number of demerits accumulated out of the 100 weighted points which summarize all health and sanitation regulations. Values of the demerits are categorized in one of the following types of violations: Priority Items (3 Points), Priority Foundation Items (2 Points), and Core Items (1 Point).

Miller Road Reconstruction
Traffic has been shifted onto the new concrete pavement according to the approved traffic control plan. Southbound Chiesa can now turn onto Miller, but northbound Chiesa cannot anymore. Tiseo Paving Company continued excavating the old asphalt pavement west of the Chiesa/Miller intersection.
