COVID-19, stigma and public health responses
Abstract: In this talk we will explore stigma and its historical and current linkages with illness to better understand the stigma surrounding COVID-19. We will discuss tensions between COVID-19 public health responses and stigma mitigation, the importance of an intersectional perspective toward COVID-19 stigma, and considerations for stigma mitigation in lifting (and reinstating) pandemic control measures.
