Thank you to the parents that provided input at the LCAP Stakeholder Meeting on Thursday. Your valued input is much appreciated. I expect to see the draft of our LCAP in late May. The final version will be placed on the June Board Agenda for public review.
The Mountain Emergency Response Corps (MERC), the local unit of the Red Cross, will offer a free 1 hour presentation entitled Helping Children in Times of Stress. It will cover the developmental factors that influence children’s reactions to stress and how they react to stress. It will explain the 10 tips for helping children and teens build resilience - the ability to bounce back from difficult times - and how to help children cope with the stresses in their lives by providing psychological first aid. The participants will receive an easy to use resource book. It will start at 7:30 PM on May 9th at the Redwood Estates Pavilion. For info contact George Smith, [email protected].
The American Red Cross has a long history of providing support to others in times of crisis. By drawing on Red Cross expertise, this course can help family members, friends and neighbors provide better emotional support to one another in times of common stress and strain, and even during times of crisis and disaster.
Enjoy your weekend. Wow, May will be knocking at our door on Monday.
Best Regards,
