New Jersey Update

This afternoon, New Jersey reported 1,140 new confirmed positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 1,869,932 total cases, and an additional 38 confirmed deaths were reported, increasing the statewide total to 29,897. The rate of transmission is reported at 0.72.

On Tuesday morning, the State Capitol Joint Management Commission voted to end the Statehouse vaccine mandate along with proof of a recent negative test as of today. The requirement for all Statehouse entrants to wear a face mask is still in place.

On Wednesday, Governor Murphy announced he will hold the last regular COVID-19 briefing on Friday, March 4th, the 2-year anniversary of the State's first reported case. He noted this is due to the significant drop in positive cases and hospitalizations in the recent weeks.
