The final month of Delaware's legislative session is here.

When lawmakers return to Dover on June 9, only 10 legislative days will remain before adjournment on June 30. While some major bills have already been decided, many others are still awaiting committee hearings, floor votes, or final action.

In our latest Substack, we take a look at some of the legislation still moving through the General Assembly, including proposals dealing with:

- Energy costs

- Tax relief for workers

- School safety

- Election integrity

- Hunting and fishing rights

- Justice for survivors of child sexual abuse

As well as bills that raise concerns about:

- Construction costs

- Drug policy

- Firearm dealer regulations

- Local control and zoning

- Changes to government records

With agendas expected to grow longer as June progresses, now is the time to pay attention.

Read the full breakdown on our Substack.

Governor Meyer Declares Statewide Drought Watch

Governor Matt Meyer has issued a statewide drought watch due to precipitation levels experiencing a steep and steady decline throughout the state for the second time in three years, particularly in Kent and Sussex Counties. The Governor declared a drought watch after receiving guidance from the Delaware Water Supply Coordinating Council (WSCC).

The drought watch is in effect until further notice. During this time, Delawareans are asked to voluntarily reduce outdoor uses of water and practice wise water use in their homes in order to preserve the state’s water resources for more necessary uses.
