A letter from the Kosbergs:

Our congregation has supported seminarian Joel Kosberg for the past four years. During the last week of April, concluding students at our two seminaries were issued their calls for the church they will serve upon completion of their last year at seminary. Joel received his call to be assistant pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, Illinois. Thank you for your prayerful support for Joel and his family!

Hymn Sing

We invite you to our end of year music gathering. This year will be a "Hymn Sing" for the congregation! We'll get together in the playground area and sing as many hymns as we can. Light refreshments to follow.

The Hymn Sing will begin at 6pm on Monday, May 17th and will last about an hour. We'll have hymnals available. Thank you to Julie Valenzuela for accompanying us!

Please watch for information coming via Facebook and email, and share with everyone who may be interested. This gathering is open to everyone!

Because your safety is of primary importance, we will continue to follow state and local COVID guidelines and remain masked for the singing portion of the gathering.

MVLCS Open Position:

The Connections Counselor position is highly important in the establishing and maintaining of the culture of the school ministry of Mountain View Lutheran Church and School (MVLCS). Its primary responsibilities are focused on intentionally establishing and maintaining positive relationships in the community by being physically present in the community and ensuring MVLS is known as an inviting place where families want to enroll their children.

This person will be working within a non-traditional schedule to allow involvement in the community and the ability to participate during evening and/or weekend functions, yet still have days dedicated to office functions and responsibilities.

A qualified individual must be able to be a humble representative of the educational ministry (PS-Grade 5) of MVLCS and willing to promote it in various arenas utilizing various avenues. An individual who is creative and willing to put forth ideas is necessary. The Connections Counselor reports directly to the School Administrator and works with all MVLCS to further the mission of the Christian church.

Mountain View Lutheran Church & School will be accepting full size hygiene products for Olive Crest through May 12, 2021. Donations needed are items like shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair products, etc. Items can be dropped off in the boxes in the Narthex. These products will be given to those families and teens they serve, especially those that are aging out of the foster care system.
