Note: In honor of Presidents' Day Weekend, there will be no school Friday, February 12 or Monday, February 15. Enjoy the long weekend!
Greetings Husky Families,

As COVID-19 cases continue to decline in Los Angeles County, we are hopeful that the number of students allowed to return to in-person learning will increase in the time ahead. One significant change announced this week is the ability for students to participate in two stable cohorts. The impact is such that a student currently on campus for academic support can now take an afternoon activity as well if they choose to do so. A player who is doing conditioning for a sport can now also participate in an activity of their choice also. For a complete list of afternoon offerings, see below. As always, protocols and requirements are in place to mitigate the risk for both students and staff during these activities on campus.
We truly enjoyed celebrating our international students and families this week, including a memorable Coffee House performance that included tours of distant places, a cookbook of recipes from far and wide, and red envelopes that hopefully found their way to students in the past few days. Although we appreciate and celebrate the diversity of our community all year long, it was great to see the enthusiasm on everyone’s part in the past week.

Today, RHP had an article featured in The Argonaut (pages 2-3), a publication that serves audiences in the beach cities and the west side of Los Angeles. Keep an eye out in the weeks ahead for more exciting coverage including the April All About Kids issue of Southbay magazine.
Have an enjoyable long weekend and best wishes for success ahead in the Year of the Ox,

David
Head of Schools

Pictured Above: We were fortunate to have a very successful virtual international week. Although it may not have been in-person, our community came together to replicate many of our traditions in a digital format. Special thanks to our performers and families who contributed to either the virtual event or the recipe book Global Kitchen: No Passports Required, with additional thanks to Kim Reddy (5th/6th GLP), Sharolyn Davis (7th Grade GLP), and Tammy Patterson (8th Grade GLP) for compiling it.
