Dear Preschool Families-
Hopefully, this letter finds you all healthy and well! Thank you for your ongoing support, patience, and understanding over these past several weeks as we navigate through this world crisis. Even though we have been physically apart since mid-March, the teachers are trying hard to maintain contact and help you and your child feel connected. We appreciate the positive feedback that we are receiving! I know that you are as grateful as I am for the teachers’ efforts!
In keeping with the new directives and recommendations from our government and public health authorities, Bishop Luis Zarama, and the Diocese of Raleigh Catholic Schools Office have decided that all Diocesan school campuses will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Our preschool students will continue to receive resources, activity ideas, and communications from their teachers through Thursday, 5/28.
The teachers, staff, and I recognize that this order will not allow for any type of closure to the year, including the traditional end-of-year ceremony for our 4’s & 5’s. While this deeply saddens us, the health and safety of our students, families, and staff is of the utmost importance to us. Due to continued uncertainty around what will be allowed during the summer, there are no plans for class gatherings in June/July. As things progress, we will monitor the possibility of any future gatherings, including our summer camp programs, and will share this information as soon as possible. I hope to have a clearer idea about the feasibility of our summer camps by mid-May and will communicate more at that time. If camp needs to be cancelled, refunds will be issued to those who registered.
