Dear Winston Students and Families,

As we head into Fall Break and the Thanksgiving holiday, warm wishes go out to each of you for a restful, safe, and joyful time with loved ones.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed on December 1st and ready for the remainder of the semester.

With gratitude,

Kelsey Garrison

Principal

The Winston Coffee House was a wonderful success! Our parents, students, and staff enjoyed an afternoon filled with incredible performances, beautiful artwork, and time to connect in a fun, relaxed setting.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special — your hard work and creativity truly shined! A special shout-out to those who donated treats, including our amazing parents, Winston’s culinary and cooking activity classes, and Better Buzz Coffee Del Mar. We’re so grateful for your support!

Thank You, Sugar Sweet Farm! 🦙💙

A huge thank you to Sugar Sweet Farm for bringing their adorable llamas to campus! The llamas were so friendly and gentle. Our students and staff loved meeting and learning more about these beautiful animals. We’re so grateful for this unique opportunity!

Middle School Visits the Palomar College Planetarium

Earlier this month, our middle school students visited the Palomar College Planetarium! During the tour, the Palomar team guided students through the current constellations and the night sky. Dr. Sally Mander and Commander Light Buzzyear led an engaging virtual journey through the Solar System, highlighting the unique features of each planet, fascinating facts about moons, and interesting details about comets and asteroids. Our students learned so much and developed a new appreciation for the work of our local Palomar College Planetarium program.

This November, our community is embracing the spirit of gratefulness — a value that also inspires our season of giving.

Throughout the month, students reflected on what they are thankful for through class discussions, helped build a schoolwide gratitude chain, and wrote letters to people who have made a difference in their lives.

Just as we encourage our students to pause and appreciate the impact others have had on them, this season reminds us how meaningful it is when families and supporters give back to Winston. Together, our collective gratitude strengthens families, supports healing and hope, and builds a brighter future. You invest in every Winston student, helping them continue to learn, grow, and thrive through your generosity.

☕ Save the Date!
Join us for our Parent Coffee Social on Friday, December 12. Come connect, relax, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee with fellow Winston parents.

Important Information for Winston Seniors:

  • If you plan to attend college in Fall 2026, your FAFSA should be filed before the priority deadline of March 2, 2026—but the sooner, the better!
    Click
    here to begin!

Helpful Tips:

FAFSA is Required for Free Tuition at Community Colleges:

  • Regardless of parental income, all students must complete the FAFSA to qualify for two years of free tuition at a community college.

You May Qualify for Additional Aid:

  • Filing the FAFSA takes as little as 20 minutes.
  • With the increased income threshold for California's Middle-Class Scholarship, more families than ever may qualify for financial assistance.

Parent and Student Accounts Are Required:

  • Both you and your student must create separate FAFSA accounts and link them using a PIN.
