2025 High School Graduation Highlights

Dear Winston Summer School Families,

Welcome to the 2025 Winston Summer School! My name is Mr. Jacobsen, and I am thrilled to be starting my 11th year at Winston and my second as Director of Summer School. I am truly excited to continue developing and building our summer program with such a vibrant and supportive community.

We are off and running! The first week has been filled with energy and enthusiasm as students jump into a wide variety of engaging classes and experiences. Our program is designed to help every student reinforce academic skills, recover credits or make up absences, and maintain the momentum they’ve built during the school year.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing hands-on learning experiences and small group instruction across all disciplines. This approach ensures that every student receives the personalized support they need to succeed, whether they are mastering challenging concepts, improving written communication, or exploring new academic areas.

Winston Summer School is more than just academics! Students have the chance to build on existing skills and develop new ones through a carefully selected range of courses, including core subjects and a variety of electives. Our enrichment opportunities in Art and Culinary Arts encourage creativity and self-expression, while after-school programs like Dungeons and Dragons Club and the Summer Athletes Program offer fun ways to stay active and engaged.

A strong sense of community is at the heart of our summer program. Students connect with peers, teachers, and staff through school-wide events, outdoor activities, and collaborative projects. We’re especially excited for the first big community event of the summer: next Tuesday, the 17th, our Culinary Arts class will team up with Student Affairs and enthusiastic volunteers to host a school-wide BBQ! Special thanks to our Math and Health classes for polling the campus and analyzing survey data to ensure we have just the right amount of everyone’s favorite foods.

We are truly excited to have everyone on campus and look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate the Winston community together. Thank you for being part of our summer adventure—we can’t wait to see all the growth, connection, and fun that this season will bring!

Warm regards,

Mr. Jacobsen
