The Winston School Staff welcomes you back to school! We’re glad you’re here — and we can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together.

Name: Mr. Moss

Title: Education Specialist

What are you teaching this year or what is your new role? I am teaching World History, English 9, & Digital Media

What should students call you? Mr. Moss

What brought you to Winston? After visiting the campus and learning more about the position, it’s clear this is the kind of school community I’ve been searching for. The chance to support a small caseload while teaching in creative, inclusive ways really speaks to my strengths and values as an educator.

Hometown: San Diego

Favorite sport, book, or music: I watch a lot of Lakers basketball.

In your free time: In my free time, I like to sleep, exercise, and spend time with my kids.

Fun fact: I have jumped out of a perfectly good working airplane!

Our Principal recently sat down with Evan Heiner, a graduate of 2019, to hear what life has been like since graduating from Winston. Evan currently works as a Financial Advisor for Fidelity Investments, one of the largest and most reputable Brokerage firms in the United States. They spoke about the teachers who encouraged him, the friends who became like family, and the confidence he built to take on new challenges.

As Evan shared, “Winston helped me become a much more confident individual. For the first time in my life, I was introduced to an environment where people not only accepted me, but resonated with me. The world can be a difficult, scary place, but as long as you accept who you are, anything is possible, and you will make it. As long as you put in the effort and don't give up, you will grow and find your destiny.”
