CAMPUS PROJECT UPDATES

RIVERWOODS CAMPUS-WIDE UPDATES

CELL TOWER SERVICE IMPROVEMENTS

  • Currently, all major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) are in the process of finalizing their build-year plans for 2024 and 2025.  Essentially, this is when they decide to spend their money for the upcoming two years.
  • We hope to have an update on their interest within the next month. As a reminder, engineering and construction will commence after a carrier has committed funding for tower space.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS

  • A site visit with our vendor, EnergySource, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th.

MASTER LANDSCAPE PLAN

  • The fourth and final workshop with Stantec, staff, and residents was held on February 22nd.

  • Stantec and Patty Davidson will present the final recommendations in an all-resident meeting – date and time TBD.
  • Please send all questions and comments to Patty Davidson at [email protected] and continue to check here for future updates.

  • If you have asked for a mini split to be installed in your cottage, the Facilities team will reach out to you shortly for scheduling.

RWE AV UPDATE

  • The initial AV installation is complete, but several areas still need to be finalized. Our IT department will keep us updated on any new progress.
  • A question arose at this week's Resident Council regarding the total cost of this AV upgrade. The total cost for all RWE spaces to be upgraded is $562,039. This includes equipment, labor, shipping, installation, and year-one service.
  • We are happy to share that the hearing loop system is now functional in the Great Bay Room. We're expecting our vendor to be onsite early next week to restore the loop system in Boulders Hall.
  • We do not yet have an ETA on the addition of more microphones. We are hoping to share more details on this item later this week. As a reminder, only one handheld microphone, one lapel microphone are currently available in the Great Bay Room and Boulders Hall.
  • YouTube and broadcast recordings are also not yet operational in any RWE spaces, with no ETA of completion.

Good news……the following is working.

  • Great Bay Room - actively working handheld microphone (1), lapel microphone (1), podium/lectern microphone (1), AV projector visuals, working speakers, hearing loop, cable television, music, movies, and presentations are currently functioning.

  • Little Bay Room - AV projector visuals, working speakers, cable television, music, movies, and presentations are functioning.

  • Hampshire Fire has begun the sprinkler inspection and replacement.
  • We expect the drywall renovations to start on Monday, March 4th, and take a couple of weeks to complete.

Tuesday, February 27th at 3:00 PM in the Ridge Room

Coming this Sunday is a treat to make Sunday Brunch even more special. We are trying something new this spring and will offer musical accompaniment for the next few months on the last Sunday of the month.

We hope you enjoy this new special treat...

**Please note there is no performer scheduled at The Boulders this weekend as a 2:00 PM afternoon performer was initially scheduled, but this group canceled this week due to Covid. I did attempt to find a brunch musician on short notice without success.**

It’s been an eventful week in fitness, capturing smiles of appreciation and cheers from fellow residents and staff with the distribution of Bingo prizes for winning residents & staff who participated in our January Wellness Bingo Challenge.

Midweek, we went to the local bowling alley, where residents practiced their bowling skills with friends. Again, lots of smiles and cheers of support for friends.

Ending the week with our Boxing Circuit class, challenging our agility and strength by utilizing the new equipment: the sled, sandbag & Olympic bar. Overall, it was a true sense of community and a celebration of health throughout the week!

The Fitness Elves are fast at work planning Winter Carnival fun for March 4th, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Ridge Fitness areas. Gather your friends and get ready to actively celebrate the end of winter with seasonal games, ability challenges, a wintery photo shoot, nourishing treats, and a hot chocolate bar.

  • The team completed 10 work orders this week.
  • Bartlett Tree Experts completed the tree removal and stump grinding project.
  • In addition to regular weekly tasks, the team worked on "rainy day" projects in the shop in anticipation of spring.
