About Our Prayer List: Any member or friend who wants a name included on the BPC prayer list should contact the church office first at 318-868-3659. We will update our prayer list every quarter to keep it fresh. The name will remain on the list until the office is notified to remove it or until the name is removed during the quarterly update. -Blessing of the Animals
BPC will sponsor “A Blessing of the Animals” event on Sunday, Oct. 3, the day before St. Francis of Assisi Day, which honors the 13th century priest known for his love of nature and animals.
The casual neighborhood event will take place from 4-6 p.m. under the stately oak trees of the church at 1915 Grover Place. It offers a time for members of the congregation and Broadmoor residents – and their pets -- to visit and enjoy time together. Instead of a formal gathering, the Rev. Dr. Jim Freeman will offer individual blessings as he walks around to greet people and their leashed or carrier-housed pets.
There will be hot dogs and all the trimmings for the two-legged participants, as well as treats and water for the four-legged ones. Games like corn hole, four-square volleyball, four-square, spike ball, and others will be available for the children and the young at heart.
The “Blessing of the Animals” event is hosted by BPC’s Love in Christ and GROW ministries.
