Uniform Sale

We will be taking in BAGGED, CLEAN, used school uniforms for the PTC Used Uniform Sale. Families may receive proceeds from the sale of their items or they can donate uniform items to the school and proceeds will go to MCPS PTC. Uniforms need to be washed!

Used Uniform Sale Details

Rosary for Montgomery Catholic


Please join other MCPS families at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on the 3rd Wednesday of every month to pray the rosary for all of our students, faculty, and staff.  The rosary will begin at 5:45, and is followed by Mass.  

Join our MCPS Prayer Warriors


If you would like to join the Prayer Warriors and receive prayers each weekday morning for Montgomery Catholic plus other topics, email either Ann Karst or Liz Gregorius. The Prayer Warriors will accept your prayer petitions not only for our school but for family, friends, and our community. To join simply send an email with your name and email address to Ann at akarstj2@gmail.com or Liz at elizabethgregorius7@gmail.com. Please include Prayer Warriors in the subject line of your email. 

NEW! MCPS Bookstore

GREAT NEWS! Montgomery Catholic will be providing textbooks for ALL students K3 - 12th grade! This is a departure from the current process for middle & high school students. 


MS/HS families will no longer have to use the textbooks list to purchase books outside of tuition. Elementary families, this means nothing changes for you until you get to Middle School. Just rest assured your tuition dollar is now going to go farther than ever.

Donation Days


We want to make it as easy as possible to donate your books! We will take in books after your High School student’s final exam!

Registration Packets were mailed to families at the beginning of January. If you did not receive yours or if you have any questions about registration, please contact Jennifer Van Alst in the Business Office.

Summer Camp Registration


PLEASE NOTE:

Soccer Camp Dates have changed to Tuesday, June 20 - Thursday, June 22. We will be adjusting the camp dates in order to observe Juneteenth on Monday, June 19.

Athletic Camps are $75 each.


Fine Art, Jr. Engineers, Makerspace, and Drama Camps are $100 each.


Math & Science Camp is $50.


All camps are half day unless specifically noted.



*Drama Camp is from 1:00-4:00pm Monday - Thursday. On Friday, campers will practice from 1:00-6:00pm with a performance for parents at 6:00pm. (Pizza will be provided for campers before the show.)

Daily Mass Schedule


Mondays @ 3:10pm

Tuesdays @ 7:15am

Wednesdays @ 10:00am

Thursdays @ 7:15am

Fridays @ 7:15am


Wednesday's are school wide mass days. Mass Day uniforms are required. 


We will also have school wide mass on the First Friday of every month, but mass day uniforms are not required for First Friday Masses.

Gym Lobby


Students may not wait in the gym lobby before or after school. There is no supervision. Athletes may attend tutorials and then get dressed for their scheduled practice and head to that location.  

Dress Code Reminder


Haircuts

Students should keep their hair neatly groomed. Radical hairstyles unbecoming of a professional environment are not allowed. Boys’ hair must not be longer than the top of their collar, nor cover their eyebrows, and may not be worn in a ponytail. Hair around the ear and sideburns must be groomed at a level that matches the individual’s mid-ear region. Hair coloring must be natural or of natural appearance. Administration reserves the right to suggest a haircut at any time, and it must be done within one week of the notice. 


Earrings

Boys may not wear earrings to school or any Montgomery Catholic sponsored event. We ring bandaids over earrings is not allowed.  

Detention


Detention in the high school is held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:00 am. When a student receives 2 or more uniform infractions, he or she will be notified by Mrs. Aaron of their assigned detention.

Exam Exemptions


As the end of the school year and exams approach, please remember: 


There are no exam exemptions for students in the 7th and 8th grade.  


In the High School, two criteria must be met in order to be exempt from Spring exams.  

1. Students must have an average of 92 or higher in the class. 

2. Students cannot have missed more than three days of class (excused or unexcused, excluding medical excuses). Remember, 3 tardies = 1 absence.


Per our handbook at the bottom of page 9 - A parent or doctor’s note must be submitted to the office within two days of the return to school. Notes after 2 days will not be accepted.  

SENIOR EVENTS


Baccalaureate Mass

May 22

Baccalaureate Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Monday, May 22. Mass begins at 7:00. Seniors should arrive by 6:15.  


Graduation

May 23

Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 23. The ceremony begins at 7:00pm. Everyone must have a ticket in order to attend.  


Graduation will be live streamed on our MCPS YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Streaming will begin at 6:45pm.

Senior Dress Code


Seniors please remember all dress code rules apply for graduation events. Boys should be clean shaven. Hair should be neatly groomed, Earrings are not permitted. A coat, tie, and dress shoes should be worn to Baccalaureate Mass. A coat is not required for senior day or graduation. Neckties, not bowties, should be worn with graduation gowns.  


Girls should wear a white or shade of white dress and dress shoes to Baccalaureate Mass. If the dress is strapless, sleeveless, or has cut-out sides or back, a white sweater or jacket must be worn over it. Dresses should be 2 inches from the crease of the back of the knee. 


Seniors should not chew gum at any of the events.  

8th Grade Completion Mass

Wednesday, May 24


The 8th Grade completion Mass will be held in the Pice Arena, on Wednesday, May 24 at 7:00pm. Students should arrive by 6:30pm and meet in the band room.


Following the last exam on Wednesday, May 24, 8th grade students will practice for the Mass and ceremony in the gym.  8th graders should be picked up at 10:30 on Wednesday, May 24, in front of the gym.

High School Laptop Return Dates


Seniors that are exempt from finals should turn their laptops in to Mrs. Van Alst in the business office on May 11th (their last day of class).


Seniors that have final exams should turn their laptops in to Mrs. Van Alst in the business office after their last exam and no later than May 17th.


Sophomores and Juniors who are exempt from exams should turn in their laptops to Mrs. Walski in the library on May 22nd.

Early Release Days


All exam days are early release days. Please pay attention to the different exam schedules for Middle School and High School. Students are released after their last exam each day.

2023-24 Class Schedules


Schedules for the 2023-24 school year have not been finalized & should be released on PowerSchool around mid-July. If you have questions about your student's Math or English placement for Summer Reading & Math, please email Miss Stearman.

Cultural Day Thanks


We had a beautiful time in Italy! Thank you to all the volunteers who made the day possible. The children had a wonderful time. A special thank you goes to Fr. Alex for cooking Fettuccine Alfredo for the entire school. It was amazing!

Completion Mass

Friday, May 26


Our last school Mass will be on Friday, May 26th, at 8:30 AM. This is the completion Mass for our 6th graders, but our whole school will be attending. Please remember to send all students in their Mass uniforms on this last day of school. Parents of 6th graders are especially encouraged to join us. After Mass, the 6th graders and their families will go to the Family Life Center for a reception and the rest of the school will return to their classrooms to prepare for their end-of-year parties. This last day of school is a noon dismissal day with no after school care available.

Congratulations to Emmie Lantrip, Sophia Collett, Grayson Collett, and Riley Collett. All have received their Sacraments and were welcomed into the Church at our recent school Masses.

Honors Assembly

Thursday, May 25


Our honor roll for the third and fourth quarter will be awarded on Thursday, May 25th, at 1:00 in the school cafeteria. This is for students in grades 3-6, but we often invite the 2nd graders so they know what to expect the following year. Parents will be notified in writing if their child is to receive an award.

End-of-Year AR Party

Monday, May 22


We will have a Giant Games Party and Dress-Down Day on Monday, May 22. Students in 1st grade that made their AR goal three quarters, will be invited. Students in 2nd - 6th grade that made their AR goal four quarters, will be invited. The 1st - 3rd grade party will be 1:00-2:00 and the 4th - 6th grade party will be 2:00-3:00. Invitations will be in Friday Folders on May 19th.

Last Minute Reminders


Parents, please check Friday Folders and book bags for notices of overdue library books and charges for emergency lunches. Also, check our Lost and Found for outerwear, water bottles,

ties, and hair ribbons.

Last Day of School

Friday, May 26


Our last day of school is Fri., May 26th with a Noon Dismissal. Each class will have an End-of-Year Party, 10:30-11:30. The teacher and room parents will plan the parties. It will be a Dress-Down-Day for students, faculty, and staff.
