Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

Rev. Jim Warren will preach at both services on this fourth Stewardship Sunday.  The sermon title is, "Extravagant Generosity:
The Expression of Your Heart."
God shows God's love for us by giving Jesus Christ to us. We respond in love by giving ourselves to God.
Our scripture is John 3:16 and II Corinthians 8:24.

For the 9:00 service the Chancel Choir is preparing a beautiful anthem, and our handbell choir will be playing the prelude.   At the 10:15 progressive One and All service, Alex will be with the band!   Come for worship, prayer, and music, along with a light breakfast.

This is Commitment Sunday.  Please bring your completed pledge form for the 2018 Stewardship Campaign.  It may be placed in the offering basket or collection plate.

Last but of no less importance, this Sunday is our first Discernment session, at 1:00 in Fellowship Hall.  We have a large crowd gathering for this important meeting.  Please don't miss it!  You may still sign up Sunday morning at the Information Center.  The session will run until 5:00 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.  Plan to come to be a part of the discussion and share your dreams for our church at both this and the November 12 session. Need childcare?  Call the office today and indicate ages and number of children.

A message about Gifts for Another Table:
October is the month we collect items for the Salvation Army.  Non-perishable food items needed include boxed rice dinners, pasta and sauce, potato dinners with sauce, Hamburger Helper, instant mashed potatoes, and canned vegetables and fruit.
Don't Miss It

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Sign up at the Information Center for the October 29 and November 12 Discernment Meetings. The Trustees have been reflecting on our church and the larger church in this day and age. Now they are bringing what they have learned and discussed to the congregation. Plan to come to be a part of the discussion sessions and share your dreams for our church (each meeting is from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.).
Fill out a TLC for FCC slip (see article above).

Bring a new or gently used donation for the Start Fresh ministry.  Items to bring for this men's prison clothing ministry include coats, scarves, hats, and gloves.

Bring a travel-size item for Operation Santa (a Disciples Women's effort) for military men and women and leave it in the designated area near the Information Center.  See The Messenger for details.

Check In on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor.  Show folks around and help them with questions they might have.  Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat.  The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center.  Let's be a welcoming church!
