Continuing our "You Asked for It -- Again!" series, this Sunday's topic asks "What Do I Believe?" Rev. Jim Warren will preach at both services, referencing Romans 8:28. Jim says the following about the sermon:
You've asked me to talk about what I believe and why. You've also asked about my favorite Bible story and verse, and my favorite theologian. Has any of this changed and, if so, why?
At the 9:00 traditional service we will have a beautiful gift of music, "Grace Alone," presented by a trio (Linda Lehmann, Marla McElroy, and Holly Irvin). The One and All Band at our 10:15 progressive service will have toe-tapping, worship-inspiring tunes for you. Come grab a light breakfast in Fellowship Hall just after ten and get ready for this unique worship experience.
Worship and Wonder starts this week for children age 4 through 2nd grade! Children will leave the sanctuary with the program leaders after Children's Time in the 9:00 service. Volunteer helpers are still needed, so please contact Holly Irvin ([email protected]) if you are willing.
A message about Gifts for Another Table:
During the month of August, our gifts are being collected for The Boys & Girls Club. Suggestions of needed items are: tall white kitchen garbage bags, 55-gallon garbage bags, toilet paper, latex gloves, band aids of all sizes, ziplock bags (sandwich, quart, gallon), and quality ice cube trays. - Pete Whitmer

Reminders
Things to Do While You Are at Church
Bring a start-of-the-school-year photo of your child for a bulletin board being put assembled by Holly Irvin, if you wish to have your child included. You may give it to Holly or place it in her mailbox outside the office, or you may email it to
[email protected]
Bring your Box Tops for Education for Bent School. Place them in the Disciples Women's Ministries mailbox near the office and they will be taken to the school by May Jackson. Thank you!
Check In on Facebook while you are at church (top right button on Facebook app news feed). At the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.
Make a new friend! Greet a visitor. Show folks around and help them with questions they might have. Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat. The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center. Let's be a welcoming church!
