Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

This Sunday, the third of December, we begin Advent.  In the 9:00 service we will celebrate with a traditional, "Hanging of the Greens" service.  If you love Christmas songs and traditions, this service is not to be missed.

Worshiping in One and All, our 10:15 progressive service, will be equally unique, with the Symbols of Christmas being discussed by James Nussbaum, who graciously accepted the invitation to be our guest speaker.  You will find it interesting, and informative!

Music is an integral part of the worship experience in both services.  Enjoy a solo and a men's ensemble, as well as performances by the Chancel Choir and Hand Bell Choir at the 9:00 service.  The One and All Band will lead us in song at the 10:15 service.   Enjoy a light breakfast as you worship in this service, in Fellowship Hall.

The first candle of Advent, the Candle of Hope, will be lit in both services.

A message about Gifts for Another Table:
In December we will replenish the items that we sometimes distribute to those who are in need of a non-perishable single-serving item when they drop by the church office.  Needed are microwaveable meals and pull-top cans of soup.

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Pick up an Advent Devotional in the Narthex, at the Information Center, or on the table outside Fellowship Hall.

Sign up for the Disciples Women's Ministry December meeting by December 3 at the Information Center.  See The Messenger for details.

Choose a tag on the Adopt-A-Family tree. Our Reach Out Ministry invites you to look for the Christmas tree in the Centrum this Sunday. Choose a tag for a gift to give to a family in need.

Bring a new or gently used donation for the Start Fresh ministry.  Items to bring for this men's prison clothing ministry include coats, scarves, hats, and gloves.

Check In on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor.  Show folks around and help them with questions they might have.  Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat.  The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center.  Let's be a welcoming church!
