Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

We will have a guest preacher this Sunday.  Lloyd Hulit, Ph.D., will deliver his sermon, "By His Stripes," in both services, referring to Isaiah 53:3-6.  Lloyd is well-known to some of you, as he and his family attended First Christian Church for many years.

Come to the 9:00 service to hear the Chancel Choir, the Children's Choir, and the Hand Bell Choir!   At the 10:15 progressive One and All service, grab a coffee and a light breakfast, and settle in for a unique, spirit-filled worship experience.

This Sunday afternoon, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Major Hall, we will gather for the second of the two planned Discernment Sessions.  If you are in need of child care, please call the office right away.  Refreshments will be provided.  Your presence is needed as the future of the church is prayerfully discussed!

A message about Gifts for Another Table:
November is the month we collect items for the Regional Alternative School.   Needs include:  Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Toothpaste, Lotion, Chapstick,  and Diapers. "Believing that all students are capable of change, the mission of RAS is to provide students with high quality, innovative, and relevant education, in a safe and positive learning environment that allows all students to identify their goals to achieve personal success. This mission is obtained through partnering with parents/guardians and the community to prove academic, vocational, and technical opportunities."

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Sign up at the Information Center for the November 12 Discernment Meeting. The Trustees have been reflecting on our church and the larger church in this day and age, and they shared their findings in the October 29 session.  Plan to come be a part of the November 12 discussion session and share your dreams for our church ( 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Major Hall).

Sign up for the November 15 Wednesday Supper Club. The group will eat at Pizza Ranch at 5:30 p.m.  Indicate your RSVP including number attending on an attendance pad, or call the church office at 309 829-9327 by 4:30 Monday, November 13.

Sign up for the Disciples Women's Ministry December meeting at the Information Center.  See The Messenger for details.

Bring a new or gently used donation for the Start Fresh ministry.  Items to bring for this men's prison clothing ministry include coats, scarves, hats, and gloves.

Thank you for your donations for Operation Santa (a Disciples Women's effort)!   All 2093 items were  delivered to our local headquarters.  Volunteers are sorting the items and preparing them to be stuffed into the large Christmas stockings which will then be boxed and sent to our deployed military men and women.

Check In on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor.  Show folks around and help them with questions they might have.  Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat.  The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center.  Let's be a welcoming church!
