Worship This Weekend 
Rev. Jim Warren's sermon series, "In the Wilderness," continues this Sunday with "There Are No Shortcuts." Come to either the 9:00 a.m. traditional service or 10:15 a.m. progressive service to hear him preach on
II Corinthians 4:7-11. Our temptation in the wilderness is to take a shortcut and find the easy way through. Our task is to remain faithful, no matter what that may cost us.
Come hear the Chancel Choir's gift of music at the 9:00 a.m. service and/or the One and All band at the 10:15 a.m. service. All of the band members will be back and rocking your favorite songs. Grab a light breakfast to enjoy as you worship in Fellowship Hall. It's complimentary and a great feature to tell friends about when you invite them to One and All!
Don't be late! This weekend we move our clocks forward one hour. Be sure to re-set your clocks before you go to bed Saturday night so you don't miss your favorite service Sunday!
About Lent 2020:
This year's theme is "In the Wilderness." We'll go on a forty day journey through the wilderness to see what we learn about God and about ourselves. When we emerge from the wilderness Easter Sunday we'll be deeper Christians, more prepared to live our faith in our daily lives. This theme and these sermons were suggested by a Lenten sermon series preached by Tim Brusten.

In March we continue our collection for the Boys & Girls Club. This is a group that uses our church weekdays after school and they do a great service for the community. Let's support them! They are most in need of
latex gloves (large and small), 55-gallon and kitchen trash bags, Band-Aids, toilet paper, Ziploc sandwich, quart, and gallon-sized bags, and paper towels.

Drop off Plastic Caps and Lids. Disciples Women's Ministries is collecting clean plastic caps and lids of (almost) all types. The caps can be donated at the Info Desk. See details in

Drop Off Gently Used Men's Shoes, Socks, and Belts in all sizes for the Fresh Start Ministry effort benefiting men leaving Lincoln Correctional Center. This will be a focused "Stepping Out in Love" drive for about three months.
Drop Off School Supplies and other items for school children. Reach Out is collecting supplies for Sheridan School and Bent School. Teachers have requested a number of specific items. Please find a detailed list of needed items at the Info Desk or in

Drop off your Box Tops for Education in the Disciples Women's Ministries mailbox outside the church office door.
Greet a visitor. Greet someone another member has greeted! Several contacts truly make a person feel welcome. Please encourage a visitor to sign the friendship pad and include an email address. A great resource for helping a visitor is the bulletin, and you can also walk them to the Info Desk for another warm greeting, more information, and a welcome gift!

Worship & Wonder and Sunday School for Children and Youth, meet this Sunday.
Pastors' Class continues meeting this Sunday at 11:15 a.m. The group will meet on Sundays throughout Lent, with the exception of Sunday, March 15 (Youth Sunday). The class is for those in 6th grade or older who are interested in being baptized on Easter Sunday. Meetings will take place in the Founders' Room.
Youth Sunday will be March 15. Remember to mark your calendars for the dress rehearsal for grades 3-12 to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.
Youth Lock-In March 20-21, 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., is for grades 6-12. Cost is $10 and the deadline to sign-up with your money is March 15.

noon on Wednesdays. Jim Warren leads the group, which studies the scripture for the upcoming Sunday. Bring a lunch to the conference room and join the study. All are welcome!
