In our
Stories That Matter sermon this week, Rev. Jim Warren will explore
Acts 8:26-38. The sermon is called, "Unless Someone Guides Me." Jim will preach at both the 9:00 traditional and 10:15 progressive One and All services. About the sermon, Jim says, "Philip comes across a eunuch who is reading from scripture, but the eunuch doesn't understand it. 'How can I,' the eunuch asks, 'unless someone guides me?' Philip then shares the good news with the eunuch, and the eunuch is baptized. This story brings out our responsibility to help one another understand and live the scriptures."
Come to the 9:00 service for a gift of music by the chancel choir. At 10:15, worship and sing along with the One and All Band. Our lead singer and bass player are away this weekend, so we will be joined by a couple of new-to-FCC musicians. Come check it out! Don't forget about Coffee Fellowship around 10:00 in the Centrum and the light breakfast provided for your enjoyment during One and All.
This Sunday we will collect the Week of Compassion offering.
Gifts for Another Table:
Why not get in the habit of bringing items for the different food pantries? This month we are collecting for St. Vincent de Paul and they need the following items: rice and rice dinners, potato dinners, pasta of any kind, pasta sauce, Hamburger Helper, dinner meals, cereal, mashed/boxed potatoes, and canned fruits and vegetables. Thank you!

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church
Drop off a donation for Bent School,
whose teachers and students are in need of many items. FCC is "adopting" the school through February. See the
Messenger for more information.
Drop off your Box Tops for Education in the Disciples Women's Ministries mailbox outside the church office door.
Make a new friend! Greet a visitor. Greet someone another member has greeted! Several contacts truly make a person feel welcome. A great resource for helping a visitor is the bulletin, and you can also walk them to the Information Center for another warm greeting and more information.
"Check In" on Facebook while you are at church.
