Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

This Father's Day Sunday, Rev. Jim Warren will be preaching on 1 Samuel 9:1-2.  His sermon is called, "Above Everyone Else." Saul, who
would become Israel's king, says that he "stood head and shoulders above everyone else." This is a day to reminisce about our fathers. We do need to remember that some fathers failed to live up to the biblical idea of fatherhood.

Come hear Jim preach at the 9:00 a.m. traditional service or the 10:15 a.m. progressive One and All service.

If you have submitted a photo, watch for it in a slideshow celebration of fathers at both services.

Once again our gift of music at the 9:00 a.m. service will be a solo presented by Moises Garcia.  Come to the 10:15 a.m. progressive service and hear upbeat favorites by the One and All Band.  Coffee and breakfast will await you!

Support the Mission Trip Group. The King's Carpenters are taking a group to Clarksdale, MS, June 17-22 to do some additional work. Donations are still needed for the trip for food, gas, and other materials. See Julie Robinson if you are able to help. Prayers for safety and well-being are always appreciated.

Talk to Linda Metz, Leslie Frizzell, or Marcia Christensen about the Mary and Martha Benefit on Saturday, June 22.  Proceeds from the sale of the beautiful products will go to the Warren Family.  See the First Christian Church of Bloomington Facebook Event Page for details and specials.

Drop Off School Supplies and Other Items. No Block Party this year, but Reach Out will be collecting supplies for Bent School.  Please consider purchasing school supplies and bringing them to the tote by the Info Desk. Also, gently used tennis shoes, coats, clothes for kids to change into in case of accidents, and new boys' and girls' underwear are needed.

Learn about Recycling/Trash Guidelines.  Watch the pre-worship and Centrum slides in the coming weeks. Also, find the guidelines attached to or posted near the prominent recycling bins throughout the building. Please be sure you are using the appropriate bins when disposing of items. Thank you!

Volunteer to Help Around FCC.  Find signup sheets at the Info Desk.

Drop off your Box Tops for Education in the Disciples Women's Ministries mailbox outside the church office door.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor. Greet someone another member has greeted!  Several contacts truly make a person feel welcome.  A great resource for helping a visitor is the bulletin, and you can also walk them to the Info Desk for another warm greeting and more information.
