Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

Advent continues this Sunday, and we light the candle of Peace.

It is Music Sunday at the 9:00 traditional service. The holiday spirit will be present as we listen to and sing throughout the morning!  Our Children and Youth Choir, Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and a Men's Quartet have been rehearsing and sound wonderful!  You will not want to miss it.

At the One and All progressive service at 10:15 in Fellowship Hall, Rev. Jim Warren's sermon, "All I Want for Christmas is... Peace," explores Luke 1:46-55. The sermon series during Advent focuses on the special gifts Christmas has for us. Those special gifts are expressed in the traditional Advent themes: hope, peace, joy, and love. During Advent we'll explore what these special gifts mean for us as we prepare to celebrate Christmas and the greatest Christmas gift of all.

The highly-anticipated Tasting Party takes place this Sunday right after the 9:00 service.  Please bring your goodie (holiday or non-holiday) and leave it in the Centrum on your way to the 9:00 service, or bring it by 9:30 if you are attending the 10:15 service.  Enjoy the warm fellowship of the season while sampling some delicious treats!

food_drive_girl.jpg Gifts for Another Table:
In December we are collecting food items for the Home Sweet Home Mission, on whom many rely throughout and especially this time of year.  Please bring rice & rice dinners, potato dinners, pasta of any kind, pasta sauce, Hamburger Helper, dinner meals, cereal, mashed/boxed potatoes, and canned fruits and vegetables.  Thank you!

"All I Want for Christmas Is ... Peace"
Christmas is a time to give and receive gifts, and to remember the greatest Christmas gift of all: God's gift of the Christ Child, God's gift of a Savior. Unfortunately, sometimes we focus so much on the falderal that comes with Christmas we miss the special gifts Christmas has for us expressed in the traditional Advent themes: hope, peace, joy and love
Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Bring a Christmas Greeting. Rather than sending Christmas cards to all our church friends, our tradition is to send or bring one card to the church to be placed in a basket in the Centrum for all to read. Enclose the amount saved on cards and postage, and this donation will be given to Camp Walter Scott. You may leave your greeting in the offering basket.

Sign up for the December Wednesday Supper Club, which will meet December 19 at Shannon's 5 Star Diner at 5:00 p.m. Please indicate on an attendance pad how many are attending or call the church office by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17.

Order a poinsettia for the sanctuary.  You may find a form in the attendance pad that you may complete and place in the offering basket, along with $9 for each beautiful poinsettia.

Pick up your All I Want for Christmas Advent Devotional at the table outside the sanctuary in the narthex or at the table outside Fellowship Hall.

Drop off your donation for the Start Fresh winter clothing drive, or pick up a flyer to learn more.  A collection tote and flyers are at the Information Center.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor. Greet someone another member has greeted!  Several contacts truly make a person feel welcome.  A great resource for helping a visitor is the bulletin, and you can also walk them to the Information Center for another warm greeting and more information.

"Check In" on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.
