Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

Pentecost, which we celebrate this Sunday, is a celebration of the day that the first Christians were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). Pentecost, which means "fiftieth," is celebrated 50 days after Easter and is the last day of the Easter season. It is also celebrated as the birthday of the Church!  A Pentecost tradition is to wear red.

Whatever you choose to wear, come!  FCC is a warm and welcoming place to worship, fellowship, and learn.  Rev. Jim Warren will focus on Ezekiel 37:1-14 in his sermon, "Can These Bones Live?"  The prophet Ezekiel sees a valley filled with very dry bones, and God asks him, "Can these bones live?"  God can make that which seems dead come to life again.  Where do we need to have the dry bones in our lives become alive?

You won't want to miss the 9:00 service, as a very lively gift of music is being prepared for you!  As always, the also-lively One and All band will be ready to go at 10:15 in Fellowship Hall.  Come for some great worship, excellent music, and an inspirational sermon message and prayer stations.   A satisfying spread of breakfast foods will be available for all who attend!  It takes place each week in Fellowship Hall.

The food pantries are always most appreciative of receiving these items.  Needed this month for St. Vincent de Paul are: canned fruits & vegetables, cereal, soup, crackers, cookies, Hamburger Helper, and instant mashed potatoes.

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Sign up at the Information Center to be a VBS volunteer.  You may also talk to Holly Irvin if you are interested in the opportunity.

Support the 2018 Block Party 4 School Kits
by signing up and getting details at the Information Center.  Also support the block party by purchasing a Block Party T-shirt and by dropping new toothpaste and toothbrushes at the Information Center (ask your dentist when you go for a cleaning!).

Take home your pictures
from the "Honoring Our Future" display boards in the Centrum if you wish.

Check In on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor. We are seeing more and more visitors lately and they seem to love a friendly greeting.  Show folks around and help them with questions they might have.  Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat.  The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center.  Let's be a welcoming church!
