Our scripture passage this Sunday is
Mark 12:41-44 and Rev. Jim Warren's sermon is entitled, "Everything We Have." About the passage, Jim says, "
This is the story of the widow who put two copper coins into the offering, and she gave more than the rich people who put in far more than she did. Our lives are to be marked by a similar generous willingness to give of everything we have." Jim will preach at both the 9:00 traditional service and the 10:15 One and All progressive service.
Immediately following the first service (so, please come early if you are attending One and All), we will have a farewell reception for Wally Calvert, our custodian, who is moving away soon. Please come to the reception to express your appreciation and wish him well. Wally's last day is November 18.
A prayerful gift of music will be presented by the Chancel Choir at the 9:00 service, and the One and All Band will add some pep to our 10:15 service. Come to Fellowship Hall for a light breakfast, coffee, and progressive worship.
We collect the Thanksgiving Offering this Sunday and next.
An important (and fun and delicious!) event is coming up next Sunday after the One and All service, and all are invited. Please sign up for Celebration Sunday when you are at church this weekend.
Gifts for Another Table:
No food this month! Items we bring in November are for the Regional Alternative School. Needed items include: shampoo and conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, hand lotion, Chapstick, and diapers. Thank you!
