Epiphany Sunday, January 6, is the day on which we mark
the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi (
Matthew 2:1-12). Rev. Jim Warren's
sermon, "Following the Star," delves into this Christian celebration. About the sermon, Jim says,
"Following the star meant a long, hard journey for the Magi, a threat to Herod, and eventually the finding of the Christ child. As we begin a new year, are we prepared to follow God wherever God may lead us?" Jim will preach at both the 9:00 and 10:15 services.
Come to the traditional service for the sermon, for worship and wonderful music, and also for a special gift of music presented by Abby Logan on cello accompanied by Lou Ann Fillingham. We start at 9:00 in the sanctuary.
One and All resumes this Sunday with progressive worship including your favorite praise songs by the One and All Band. Come enjoy fellowship and a complimentary light breakfast, starting at 10:15 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.
While you are at church, won't you take a moment to fill out the Small Groups Survey, found with your bulletin at either service? This survey will measure the interest in continuing with small groups.
Gifts for Another Table:
In January we are collecting items for the Boys and Girls Club. Please bring latex gloves (large and small), 55-gallon and kitchen trash bags, Band-Aids, toilet paper, Ziploc sandwich, quart, and gallon-sized bags, and paper towels. Thank you!
