Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

What a great time for the sermon topic, "Listening to God: A Solid Foundation," as we celebrate Heritage Sunday.  We will be recognizing those steadfast congregants who have been members of First Christian Church, Second Christian Church, Third Christian Church , Stanford Christian Church , or University Christian Church for 50 or more years This sermon will be the last in our "Listening to God" sermon series. Rev. Jim Warren will preach from the familiar and inspiring Matthew 7:24-27 passage.   Jesus tells about two houses: one built on rock and the other on sand. The former survives the storm, and the latter was destroyed. Our lives - and our church - need to be built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

Jim will preach at both the 9:00 traditional service and the 10:15 One and All service.  In the 9:00 service our gift of music will be presented by the Chancel Choir.  For the 10:15 service, the One and All Band is rehearsing some favorite tunes.
Invite a friend to come with you Sunday!

Around 10:00, just after the 9:00 service, we will continue to celebrate our Heritage Sunday honorees with a cake reception in the Centrum.  See you there!

Faithful Stewards: I am the Church. We are the Church.
It's time to value ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ.  It's time for self-care as faithful stewards!

Bill Robitske, Reena Rhoda, and Pete Whitmer shared with us last week the importance of our church as family to them throughout their life's journey. Our church family has a significant impact to its many members. That unity proves to be a great part of our strength.

We are the church. It's time for self-care as a church.

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Drop off your donation the Start Fresh winter clothing drive, or pick up a flyer to learn more.  A collection tote and flyers are at the Information Center.

It's Pastor Appreciation Month! Show your appreciation to pastoral staff.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor. Greet someone another member has greeted!  Several contacts truly make a person feel welcome.  A great resource for helping a visitor is the bulletin, and you can also walk them to the Information Center for another warm greeting and more information.

"Check In" on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.
