Eastertide brings us a new sermon series, Overflowing. Join us each week leading up to Pentecost for a new topic exploring stewardship and God's grace. Rev. Jim Warren will be preaching this Sunday on Psalm 104:14-30. The sermon title is "Honoring Our Past
." All that we are and all that we have are gifts from God. The first sermon in this series will remind us that everything is gift; stewardship is multi-faceted. God's grace will overflow into our lives as we live with this realization. Jim will preach at the 9:00 traditional service and the 10:15 progressive One and All service (in Fellowship Hall).
Continue to invite your friends for the teaching, the worship, the music (handbell choir will play at the 9:00 service!), and even the food (coffee and donut holes between services and/or a light breakfast at One and All). Hear the Chancel Choir at the 9:00 service, with Drexler Singers who will only be with us a few more weeks this season.
More about the
Overflowing series:
This series is based on a recently published Disciples of Christ stewardship study that looks at the many dimensions of stewardship. Our General Minister and President, Teri Hord Owens, introduces
Overflowing with these words, "
God's grace simply and abundantly overflows into our lives and hearts, particularly as we celebrate the great gift of Jesus' love this Easter season."
Gifts for Another Table:
We did a great job collecting items last month for Home Sweet Home Mission. Let's do a super job this month for The Boys & Girls Club. Needed items are: tall white kitchen garbage bags, 55 gallon garbage bags, toilet paper, latex gloves, band aids, zip lock bags, and quality ice cube trays.
