Key Leader Highlight: Director of International Department, School Counselor, Sherrie Lah

Mrs. Sherrie Lah is the Director and Counselor of the International Department at Crean Lutheran. She has been working at Crean Lutheran for eighteen years. She desired to be in a place where she could openly share her faith. Mrs. Lah’s mission is deeply rooted in her passion for serving international students, not only by guiding them academically and culturally, but also by helping them come to know God’s love and purpose for their lives. She sees her role as both an educator and a mentor, striving to create a supportive community where students feel seen, valued, and spiritually nurtured. Mrs. Lah was actively involved in a variety of activities, including golf, tennis, and acting. These experiences shaped her belief in the importance of student involvement and personal growth beyond the classroom. One of her most cherished memories at Crean Lutheran is her very first day on August 26, 2008. On that day, she met with Dr. Beavers, and together they prayed for God’s blessing on the school so that it would become a place where international students from around the world could find community, purpose, and faith. That prayer continues to be reflected in the thriving international program today. Mrs. Lah’s advice to high school students is to always get involved in school activities and to discover what God has in store for them. Moreover, get involved in serving because the joy you get from giving will always be more rewarding than receiving. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28. We are so grateful for Mrs. Lah’s leadership here at Crean Lutheran!

Smart Start - Driver Safety Class

Smart Start is a safe-driving presentation provided by the Irvine Police Department, in partnership with Irvine Unified School District, designed to prepare students as they begin driving. Attendance and participation are required for any student seeking a Crean Lutheran parking permit. This class is open to all students (grades 9–12) and may be completed before or after receiving a driver’s license, with credit remaining valid for a student’s entire time at Crean Lutheran. Because this is a required step for completing a parking permit application, students are strongly encouraged to attend as early as possible.

There are seven presentation opportunities available before the start of the school year, and students may attend any listed location. Additional details will be shared via student email in June. Please check regularly for updates.
