| | Key Leader Highlight: Campus Pastor, Timothy Unke | | |
Pastor Timothy Unke serves as the Campus Pastor at Crean Lutheran. He has worked at Crean Lutheran for the past 12 years. Pastor Unke felt that the position at Crean Lutheran was a perfect fit after going to seminary and serving in churches from Alaska to Virginia. He enjoys being part of a vital, forward-thinking, Christ-centered ministry such as Crean Lutheran. In high school, Pastor Unke was on the student council and played basketball all four years. One of his favorite memories from his Senior year was playing on the same basketball team as his brother and winning the championship game. Pastor Unke’s advice for high school students is to keep Jesus close because, with Jesus, your life has a firm foundation and the sure hope of heaven. His favorite Bible verse is Revelation 2:10b. We are so grateful for Pastor Unke’s leadership here at Crean Lutheran!

We are so excited for Prom 2026: Under the Mediterranean Moonlight. Prom will be held at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club (12442 Tustin Ranch Rd., Tustin, CA 92782) on Saturday, April 25, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on this special night!
Prom is open to Crean Lutheran Juniors and Seniors and their guests only. Underclassmen are allowed to attend as an upperclassman’s date but may not purchase their own ticket. The Junior or Senior must purchase their date’s ticket using the underclassman’s student ID number.
Tickets are still available for purchase till TODAY, Friday, April 24, at NOON on GoFan.
Student Ticket Prices:
- Regular Student Ticket ( TODAY, Friday, April 24 at NOON): $110
- Late Ticket at the Door: $160 (regular ticket price + $50 late fee) - CASH OR CHECK ONLY
Students may also bring non-Crean Lutheran student guests to this dance. The Crean Lutheran Guest Dance Contract must be submitted to the Dean's Office (A109a) for approval no later than Wednesday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m. Once your guest is approved, you will receive an access code to purchase your guest's ticket through GoFan. Guest tickets are $110 and must be purchased by Friday, April 24, at NOON. Guest tickets may not be purchased at the door.
All Crean Lutheran Dance Rules for appropriate dress and student behavior must be followed. The recommended dress code for Prom is formal attire (men: slacks with dress shirt, tie/bow-tie, suit jacket recommended; women: floor-length dresses).

| | Hip Hop Competition Team Tryouts - April 27 & 30 | | |
Crean Lutheran Hip Hop Competition Team Tryouts will take place on April 27 and 30 from 3:00–6:00 p.m. in the Dance Room (G100).
The first day will include a clinic and choreography, followed by official tryouts on the second day. Participants should arrive performance-ready in all-black attire, sneakers, and knee pads, with hair secured in a slick ponytail.
We look forward to seeing our students bring their energy and talent as they prepare for the upcoming season!

| | Smart Start - Driver Safety Class | | |
Smart Start is a safe-driving presentation provided by the Irvine Police Department, in partnership with Irvine Unified School District, designed to prepare students as they begin driving. Attendance and participation are required for any student seeking a Crean Lutheran parking permit. This class is open to all students (grades 9–12) and may be completed before or after receiving a driver’s license, with credit remaining valid for a student’s entire time at Crean Lutheran. Because this is a required step for completing a parking permit application, students are strongly encouraged to attend as early as possible.
There are seven presentation opportunities available before the start of the school year, and students may attend any listed location. Additional details will be shared via student email in June. Please check regularly for updates.

Registration is now open for 2026 Summer Sports Training! Summer Sports Training is strongly encouraged for all new and returning athletes. It’s a great opportunity for students to meet teammates, build skills, and prepare for the upcoming season. Coaches also use this time to connect with athletes and evaluate skill development.
Athletic clearance is required and must be completed before summer workouts/practices. Exer Urgent Care offers free physical examinations from May until July.

Boys Basketball Coach Austin Loeb was named All CIF Division 1 Coach of the Year, Chadrack Mpoyi (’26) earned All CIF Division 1 Player of the Year, and Hunter Caplan (’27) was named All CIF Division 1 First Team. In addition, Kate Nourse (’27) was selected to the All CIF-SS Division 2 Team for Girls Soccer, while Olivia Murphy (’27) and Paige Hoffmann (’27) were named to the All CIF-SS Division 3AAA Team for Cheer. We are proud to share that Abigail Han, a 15-year-old cellist, has earned First Place in the American Protégé International Competition in the Piano and Strings category (Intermediate level, ages 15–18). This prestigious competition is highly regarded, with only a few Crean Lutheran students placing in past years.
As a result of this outstanding achievement, Abigail has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall this summer. Congratulations, Abigail, on this incredible accomplishment!.
