Campus Enhancement Update: Faithful Stewardship and a Revised Timeline

As we continue through this season of growth and transition, we are reminded that faithful stewardship requires both vision and patience. Crean Lutheran remains committed to pursuing campus enhancements that support our mission of Proclaiming Jesus Christ through Excellence in Education, while also ensuring that decisions are made with wisdom, care, and the best interests of our students, families, faculty, and staff in mind. Please take a few moments to read the important campus enhancement update regarding the revised timeline for relocating Buildings E, F, and J.

Prayer, Support, and Encouragement

I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

As we continue walking together through the grief of Ryder Barnes’ passing, we remain committed to caring for our students and families with compassion, wisdom, and Christ-centered hope. Over the past several weeks, Crean Lutheran has provided counseling and pastoral support, gathered as a community in prayer and a memorial chapel, offered a parent webinar on supporting teens after loss, and welcomed Brandon Joffe, LCSW, and Zack Collie, AMFT, for a student assembly focused on resilience, perseverance, and the importance of support. We invite you to read the full update, which provides more details on the ways Crean Lutheran has responded and how we will continue to walk with students and families in the days ahead.

Key Leader Highlight: HR Director, Jodi Delfino

Mrs. Jodi Delfino is the HR Director at Crean Lutheran. She has worked here for 8 years with 22 years of prior work experience at The Salvation Army Community Center. Mrs. Delfino was called to serve at Crean Lutheran after being referred by a coworker who had an incredible experience there. In high school, Mrs. Delfino was very academic. She was part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Bible Study Club, and worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard at the YMCA. Some of her favorite memories at Crean Lutheran are team-building events, the staff scavenger hunt, service days, and hosting the fire and police departments when the fires happened a few years ago. She loves serving others and building relationships with all of the employees. Mrs. Delfino’s advice for high school students is to remain faithful in what God has for you, to study hard, to make good friends, to get involved, and to stay grounded in God’s Word. Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. We are so grateful for Mrs. Delfino’s leadership here at Crean Lutheran!

Smart Start - Driver Safety Class

Smart Start is a safe-driving presentation provided by the Irvine Police Department, in partnership with Irvine Unified School District, designed to prepare students as they begin driving. Attendance and participation are required for any student seeking a Crean Lutheran parking permit. This class is open to all students (grades 9–12) and may be completed before or after receiving a driver’s license, with credit remaining valid for a student’s entire time at Crean Lutheran. Because this is a required step for completing a parking permit application, students are strongly encouraged to attend as early as possible.

There are seven presentation opportunities available before the start of the school year, and students may attend any listed location. Additional details will be shared via student email in June. Please check regularly for updates.
