Hi Elizabeth!!
How was your first full week of classes? Getting into the groove? Great!
The Basic Needs Center is open and the Food Basket is fully stocked; all currently enrolled students are eligible for 2 bags of assorted groceries each month. You can find them in the 1200 Building, Room 1202, on these days/times:
- Monday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Don't need groceries? That's OK. Stop by to charge your phone, or to visit the Student Express Food Pantry for a quick bite to eat between classes. Stay healthy!
Speaking of staying healthy; we are hearing that COVID, RSV and flu are still circulating in our community. If you attend classes on campus and have a positive COVID test, please email the Student Health Center or call (707) 256-7780 and report when and where you were last on campus. Thank you!
Reminder: The NVC Scholarship Application closes on Tuesday, Feb. 7. With ONE application, you could apply for $260,000 in available scholarships.
Planning to transfer to a 4-year program? Some institutions may still be accepting applications for Fall 2023. Find out more at a 30-minute workshop at the Transfer Center at noon on Jan. 31 (Room 1335).
National news has been particularly distressing lately. If you need to speak with someone who can help you care for your mental health, the Health Center has confidential resources for you.
Finally, those phishing emails are still coming, with a threat that your email will be deleted if you don't click. Please don't click.
The Friday Extra will keep you in the know, with important dates and deadlines, campus events, scholarship and job opportunities, and easy access to student support services.
