Southeast Iowa Drive Thru Job Fair
What: Greater Burlington Partnership, Lee County Economic Development Group and IowaWorks will be hosting a drive thru Job Fair.
Employers have two options to participate:
-Option 1: Provide 200 flyers, can be front and back, to be included in a kit that each attendee will receive when they drive thru the mall parking lot. 
-Option 2: In addition to providing 200 flyers, you can set up your own tent that attendees will have the option of going to for additional information, fill out an application, do onsite job interviews, etc. You must provide your own tent, tables, etc. There is no charge for this but space is limited, filled on a first come first served basis, and social distancing is expected. All employers requesting space for a tent must be registered by April 12. To register click here.

Hillyer comes to CANCO after five years with TDT CPAs and Advisors in Burlington. The Burlington resident is a 2009 graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School, and a 2013 graduate of St. Ambrose University in Davenport with a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
In her previous job, Hillyer performed a range of accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll, corporate and individual income tax and more. Hillyer said she liked payroll best of all, and is pleased to have a chance to do that work full-time.
“I’d also heard good things about working here,” she said.
Hillyer’s first day at Carl A. Nelson & Company was April 5, 2021. She succeeds Renita Jarrett, who will retire this spring following 31 years with Carl A. Nelson & Company.
Away from the office, Hillyer is current president of the Burlington Optimists Club, a member of the board of the Burlington Elk’s Club, and a member of Greater Burlington Young Professionals. She enjoys Burlington Bees baseball, creates custom vinyl pieces for T-shirts and other items for organizations, and refinishes furniture.

Drug Free Workplace Training
What: Iowa’s drug testing law (Iowa Code Section 730.5, paragraph 9.h. and Administrative Code Section 640) enhances worker safety by creating drug and substance free workplaces. One tool available to private sector employers is drug testing (including alcohol testing).
