Amy grew up in Burlington, graduated from Burlington High School, earned her A.A. from SCC and her B.A. from the University of Iowa. Amy's credentials include Project Management Professional, Six Sigma Greenbelt, Scrum Master and Agile for Business Analysis. She and her family have been living in the Chicago area for many years, and are now in the process of moving back to Burlington. Amy has significant experience in communication, public relations and management with emphasis on retail, marketing, sales and training.

Young Professionals Virtual Leadership Conference
What: The Greater Burlington Young Professionals will host the 5th Annual YP Leadership Conference (Virtually). Spend the afternoon with fellow YPs to focus on leadership topics that will help you grow professionally. This year the YP Conference has three tremendous speakers covering a variety of topics. Downtown Partners, Inc. - 144 Envelopes
What: The Annual 144 Envelopes Campaign has begun, with a fun new twist. Downtown Partners Board of Directors members are “selling” 144 Envelopes to solicit contributions corresponding to a dollar amount on an envelope, from $1 to $144. The unique fundraising campaign encourages individuals and businesses to invest in the downtown Burlington Main Street Program, enabling Downtown Partners, Inc. to continue its work facilitating building and business improvements, presenting special events, and beautifying and marketing the city center.

Jefferson St Farmers Market
What: Join Downtown Partners, Inc. for the region's favorite farmers market. The market returns to Jefferson St with fresh and local produce and baked goods. What: PowerPoint is used to create presentations that can combine text, graphics, charts, clip art, and WordArt. These presentations can then be shown at internal business meetings, sales calls, and training events. Goodwill Offering Free ServSafe Food Handler Class                     
What: In an effort to support our local restaurant industry, Goodwill has limited scholarships available for the ServSafe Food Handler class. This is an industry recognized certification that teaches the basics of safe food handling in a commercial kitchen.

Rent and Mortgage Help                       
What: Community Action is helping process applications for rent and mortgage assistance through the Iowa Finance Authority. Applicants must have had a loss of income since March 17, 2020 as a result of the pandemic and be low to moderate income. We have approved over $150,000 in southeast Iowa to go to landlords, paid past due rent, late fees, and future rent to keep people in their homes with up to 4 months of assistance or $3,200 per household. You may get a call from Community Action if additional information is needed. Landlords can refer their tenants to apply online.

Danville Station Reopening                        
What: The Danville Station will be reopening again after being closed with COVID concerns. Reopening will have specific precautions in place with hand sanitizing, masks required, and limited hours. Senior citizens get the first hour to themselves each day!
When: Reopening September 9 from 2 - 5 PM. The Danville Library's new opening hours are on MWF from 2 - 5 PM with our senior patrons only from 2 - 3 PM. The Anne Frank Museum visitors may come anytime between 2 -5 PM MWF or by arrangement by calling Janet at 319-392-4577.
