Burlington Rotary - Once Upon a 5K Fun Run/Walk
What: A 5K Fun Run/Walk fundraiser of the Burlington Rotary Club to support the club’s literacy promotion and other programs for area children.
This event takes place through the historic Aspen Grove Cemetery, and takes the place of the club’s annual Barbecue Chicken Dinner, which we were forced to cancel due to COVID-19. The annual dinner was a major source of support for club initiatives. This is a non-timed event, taking place rain or shine, dress accordingly. Pets are not allowed. There are no refunds. Out of respect for the families and the Aspen Grove Cemetery Association, NO costumes, please.

Transitions DMC, Inc Updates
What: Transitions DMC became a funded HUD / IFA Homeless Shelter in August of 2020, effective with a funding start date of March 1, 2020 under a COVID-19 Emergency Shelter Grant. Community Thrives Program
What: "A Community Thrives" is the contest run by the Gannett foundation. What: The Club M Mentoring Program of Burlington Community School District is looking for community volunteers to become mentors and empower youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. The mentoring program uses adult volunteers to commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person. By becoming part of the social network of adults, community members who care about the youth, the mentor can help youth develop and reach positive academic, career, and personal goals. Heart to heART: Community of Caring
What: Patients staying in the COVID-19 wing at Great River Health need something to brighten up their days. You can help in two ways: create a piece of artwork that can be hung in their rooms or donate money to be used for art kits and supplies for the patients to use to pass time.
